Correspondence about the WTO

The World Trade Organisation (WTO) governs international trade between its 146 member countries, with an agenda that promotes trade liberalisation.  Member nations meet every two years at a Ministerial Summit and Caroline has attended these on a number of occasions in her role as an MEP.

The General Agreement on Trade in Services is a WTO agreement, which is essentially a framework to allow the commodification of public services, such as healthcare and education, via international trade.
