Green MEP for the South East Dr Caroline Lucas called on world leaders to leave behind destructive free market economics and move towards a new, greener approach to global trade last night at a World Development Movement conference in London.

The conference, one of a series called ‘Turning up the heat’, asked whether or not big business has a part to play in saving the planet from devastating climate change. Dr Lucas was joined on the panel by Stewart Wallis of the new economics foundation, Walden Bello of Focus on the Global South and singer KT Tunstall, who gave a speech via video link.
