Attacks against Jewish people and synagogues have increased at least seven fold in recent weeks, with many victims reporting that they appear to be targeted in revenge for the Israeli army’s actions in Gaza. So, the Green Party is supporting a London wide initiative to condemn all examples of organised and individual expressions of racial or religious hatred. United London Stands has a simple message - that we are a multi-religious, multi-racial and multi-cultural society and will not tolerate violence against or between communities. This applies as much to the South East and other parts of Britain as it does to the capital. Long term peace, justice and freedom for the Palestinians will only be built on foundations of respect and understanding - laying these foundations must remain a priority both here at home, as well as in the Middle East.
