Green Economics

Caroline is working hard in the European Parliament to help create a greener, fairer and more sustainable global economy which priorities human wellbeing and the environment over corporate profits. She has called for a “Green New Deal” for Europe, which would address financial, environmental and energy problems through a major programme of public and private investment in renewable energy and energy efficiency - creating hundreds of thousands of new ‘green-collar’ jobs in the process. This green energy revolution, combined with a re-regulation of international finance, an end to government subsidies for coal and nuclear, and a windfall tax on the profits of oil and gas companies, would lay the foundations for a more responsible alternative economic system.
