BRUSSELS BASED STAGIAIRE

Caroline is looking for a Stagiaire to play an active role in the workings of her Brussels office in the European Parliament. Being a Stagiaire is hard work but an excellent way to experience and contribute to Green politics in action, and to gain an insight into the workings of the European institutions.

The selected candidate will receive a living allowance of £1000 per month.

Key tasks of a Stagiaire

• General office administration (handling emails, letters and phone calls; meeting arrangements; photocopying and filing)
• Desk research for constituent enquiries and casework
• Making travel arrangements
• Responding to correspondence from constituents and lobbyists
• Drafting letters to European Commission and Government departments
• Event organisation
• Attending and feeding back from meetings and seminars
• Whatever comes up!

 What we are looking for

Someone who has:-

• Genuine passion for Green politics and Caroline’s work in Europe
• Willingness to undertake substantial basic administration
• Strong skills in organisation and multi-tasking
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Common sense, drive and a problem-solving attitude
• Friendly, personable manner and a sense of diplomacy
• Good IT skills (Microsoft Office)
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt to a complex new environment and cope with high pressure situations

 Additional assets (advantageous but non-essential):-

• Language skills (particularly French)
• Some prior experience of EU institutions and / or work for elected officials
• Strong interest in animal welfare issues
